About Me
I’ve always enjoyed creating things. Several years ago I took a wireworking class from Sharilyn Miller and that was the beginning of a new path in life. This led to a passion for beads, both natural and glass, and from there I discovered artist lampwork beads. A local artist recommended an excellent teacher Cindy Brown of Cindy Beads.
This started my search for information on lampworking and inspired me to set up my own workspace. Soon I began creating my own lampwork beads. I've been fortunate to learn from artists including Cindy Brown, Roxanne Taylor, Patti Walton, Sterling Gray, Jayne Persico, and I'm currently taking silversmithing classes.
I’ve dabbled in metalsmithing, metal clay, wireworking, glass fusing, silversmithing, jewelry design and lampworking. I’m enjoying the process of creating and combining these skills together in my jewelry. However, I must say there is nothing like the zen experience of sitting at the torch and melting glass!
About the beads
I use Moretti/Effetre, Vetrofond, Lauscha, CIM and ASK glass. All beads are handmade one at a time at my home in Colorado using a minor torch and oxygen concentrator. All beads go directly from the flame to the kiln. The beads are annealed in a digitally controlled Jen-Ken kiln for lasting durability, cleaned using a diamond bit then individually inspected.
I am a Self Representing Artist which means I individually create each and every bead.
